PETS IN PCB

More and more people are traveling with their pets these days, and the beach is no exception. While there are a handful of Resorts that allow guest pets, the majority of them restrict them so it’s not up to the owner or property manager to allow them or not. Dunes of Panama, Sugar Beach, Treasure Island and Gulf Highlands are among the resorts that allow guest pets (you still need to be sure the condo owner will accept them), and individual homes have the ability to be pet-friendly (again, up to the owner so be sure to inquire).

The Dog Beach at Pier Park is the ONLY beach that allows pets. Located on the west side of the Russell-Fields City Pier in front of Pier Park, dogs must be on a leash and under the command of the owner. Dogs (other than Service Animals) are not allowed on any other beaches in Panama City Beach, and violators could receive fines.

While there may not be a lot of beaches where your pups can go, there are a lot of restaurants that welcome them. Generally speaking, just about any restaurant with a deck, patio or other outdoor dining area is happy to have Fido join you. And there are loads of restaurants in Panama City Beach with great outdoor seating. Check out Pineapple Willies, Patches, Sharkey’s, Runaway Grill, Harpoon Harry’s, Hook’d, and more for great eats, a great view, and a pet-friendly atmosphere.

If you arrive in town and realize that you forgot something critical for your pooch, there is a PetSmart in north Pier Park off Back Beach Rd. And there are quite a few groomers in the area. Check out these top Google-rated grooming businesses: Happy TailsBark Baths and Beyond PCB, and Paw’sh Grooming Spa among others.
